چکیده مقاله

Value Engineering (VE) is a systematic approach on cost reduction and value increase without sacrificing the function of a project, program or service. Due to the current world economic status and the increased desire for excess cost management, systematic and rational methodologies for cost reduction have to be considered throughout the project life. Excess cost control requires to be maintained throughout the project life beginning from the initial stages of design. Scrutinizing the project well and considering all possible alternatives particularly in design stage are important for achieving optimum cost. VE involves a multidisciplinary team that employs a structured process to identify and evaluate alternatives, leading to innovative solutions that optimize value. The primary objective of this approach is to achieve the desired performance, functionality, and quality at the lowest possible price. The Insight on Value Engineering shows that by applying its principles, organizations can reduce costs, enhance productivity and improve customer satisfaction, ultimately gaining a competitive edge in the market.
