| By increasing the requirement to the renewable energy sources, the requirement to the power electronic converters that can generate sinusoidal like waveforms with high power high voltage is increased. High reliability and efficiency is the other needs to the power electronic converters. So, in this paper, a new cascaded multilevel inverter with the capability to receive desired output level by decreasing the number of power electronic devices is proposed. in order to receives this aim, two different algorithms are proposed and the number of generated output levels and its maximum amplitude are calculated. In addition, the value of blocking voltage and number of used power electronic devices are obtained. Finally, the accuracy performance of the proposed inverter is verified based on the simulation results on EMTDC/PSCAD software program under resistive–inductive load and for the two-cell inverter. The obtained results confirm that the proposed structure generates high-quality waveforms with low harmonic distortion and this topology is considered as an efficient and scalable solution for industrial applications. |
